Del Webb at Lake Las Vegas is a gated 55-and-over community that Del Webb, part of PulteGroup, opened in February 2020 at East Lake Mead Parkway and Lake Las Vegas Parkway. About 460 single-story homes were planned on roughly 125 acres. Residents share a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse with a fitness center, lap and resort pools, and pickleball and bocce courts.
History of Lake Las Vegas

Lake Las Vegas sits on the Las Vegas Wash, a few miles upstream from Lake Mead. The idea dates to the 1960s, when J. Carlton Adair proposed damming the wash for a resort, but he couldn't raise the money. In 1987 control of the project passed to Transcontinental Properties, run by Ron Boeddeker, and Texas billionaires Sid and Lee Bass helped finance it.
Crews first laid pipes to carry the wash's flow under the future lake, then built an earthen dam 192 feet tall. The lake, about 320 acres, began filling in the early 1990s. The first resort, a Hyatt Regency, opened in December 1999. A Ritz-Carlton and MonteLago Village followed in 2003. Golf courses included Reflection Bay, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The housing crash hit hard. The development company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 17, 2008, and the Ritz-Carlton closed in May 2010. The company came out of bankruptcy in July 2010. New owners, including Raintree Investment, bought the golf courses and land. The old Ritz reopened as Ravella in 2011 and became a Hilton in 2013.
